Irene will come to Carolyn's to teach Floral Beauty.
Here is how Irene describes the class.
Irene: Floral Beauty was made because I wanted to make a quilt that was portable. It is made up of 35 “star” blocks and 21 flower blocks but the quilt can be made any size, including as a table runner. Each block is 6” square. I loved mixing and matching fabric and used my own blend of “soft, romantic, vintage looking” fabric!
This class focuses on needleturn appliqué. I teach this in a simple easy-to-understand way and hopefully get you to enjoy needleturn.
For this particular quilt you will learn:
- Needleturn appliqué particularly how to sew points
- Reverse appliqué
- Easy way to make multiple circles
- How to glue all pieces onto the background and make the block portable
- Choosing fabric and mixing and matching fabric
This is a one day class where we will discuss how to be confident with fabric choices, and we will work on 3 different blocks – the star block, two reverse appliqué blocks.
The class is suitable for beginner, intermediate and experienced quilters.
It sounds just amazing Irene! For a look at Irene's quilts check her website here.
Dates for your diary are Friday 26th for a Trunk Show, and class on the 27th October.
Class times will be 10.30 - 3.30 and the cost is $100 per day.
